US stocks close higher, with DJIA gaining 0.09% X

(Infocast News)    US stocks posted modest gains on Monday as investors watched developments in U.S.-Iran peace negotiations and cheered the unveiling of a new computer chip that promises to bring artificial intelligence to personal computing. 

The DJIA rose 46.42 points or 0.09%, to 51,078.88.

The Nasdaq Composite rose 114.19 points or 0.42%, to 27,086.81.

The S&P 500 rose 19.90 points or 0.26%, to 7,599.96.

Stocks fell in the three major European markets.

The FTSE 100 fell 70.33 points or 0.68%, to 10,338.95.

The German DAX fell 101.66 points or 0.40%, to 25,003.04.

The French CAC 40 fell 36.75 points or 0.45%, to 8,146.59.
